Moving Minds with Music
Rhythmic Minds offers music classes for babies, toddlers, preschool children, and their parents. These classes are fun music classes paired with movement, singing, signing, dancing, and rhythm to enhance growth and development. Research shows that music, specifically rhythm impacts all parts of the brain, enhancing those areas that affect communication, motor, cognitive, social, and emotional skill levels. It also shows that pairing music with movement and sign language can increase development in babies and young children. Music and rhythm are a great way to enhance interaction between parent and child. Sign up for a Moving Minds with Music class today!
The Music We Use
Led by a Rhythmic Minds music therapist, Moving Minds with Music engages your child in fun music making experiences that meet their social, cognitive, and developmental needs. Rhythmic Minds instructors play the guitar, sing, move, and dance! We use our own songs along with music written by other music therapists and musicians. The instruments and props we bring to class include, but are not limited to: drums, bells, shakers/maracas, cabasas, rainsticks, scarves, therapy balls, a parachute, tambourines, the autoharp, and the guitar.
How It Works
Bringing music to you! We start with a host. The host provides ample parking and a large, clean living room for 10 children and parents. We also ask that the host provide bottled water for everyone in the group. In return, the host receives the 10-week program for free.
Extra Perks
The classes are kept small so that your baby or toddler receives individualized attention while receiving the most effective and interactive musical experience. We drive to your neighborhood, bringing all of our fun toys and instruments to your playgroup. If you host a playgroup or want to sign up to host a playgroup, please fill out the Contact form below.
All instructors use live music. Live music is more beneficial because the therapist can change the tempo, volume, and harmony to facilitate developmental growth. Live music creates a non-threatening environment in which each child and parent can create and improvise. Live music also creates and enhances bonding opportunities.
